President Goodluck Jonathan had a closed door meeting with Service Chiefs (pictured), which lasted several hours at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on February 3, 2014, Monday.
This was the first meeting since the appointment of new service chiefs last month.
The discussions were allegedly connected with the rising violence of the Boko Haram sect and other insurgents in the North-East which have claimed dozens lives in the past few days.
There were not official statement at the end of the meeting, and the service chiefs refused to give any comments on the issues discussed at the parley.
When approached by journalists for comment on the meeting, the Chief of Defence Staff declined.
“I will only speak if you will allow me speak in my dialect,” he said.
