An Indian man, Lakshmi Kanta Sarkar has been sentenced to death after he was found guilty of the gruesome murder of a baby.
The man is said to have decapitated the baby and drank its blood in a so-called occult ritual. He was found by villagers in a graveyard while he was drinking the blood from the baby’s head hanging from a tree.

He was beaten to stupor by the villagers who screamed 'sorcerer' until the police intervened to avoid lynching.
Police had to arrest the man as officers feared the group of villagers who found him would kill him
The incident took place two years ago during an occult ritual in Kalakuri village in Bankura, West Bengal and was captured on film by an Indian tv crew.

But Sarkar was recently sentenced after 17 witnesses testified against him at Sulagna Dastidar district court in Bankura.
