The Senate committee on interior on Tuesday begins a two-day public hearing into the stampede that left 23 people dead during the aptitude test for the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja on March 15.

The committee is mandated to investigate the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, and the Comptroller General of the NIS, David Parradang, are expected to appear before the Senate committee.
The Senate also tasked the executive to come up with a marshal plan to tackle the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.
