During the Wednesday meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan in Belgium, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has promised on Wednesday to render assistance to Nigeria in fighting terrorism.
According to Merkel, safety and stability in Nigeria is important to the West African sub-region.
Responding to Jonathan's request for further assistance from Germany in the power sector, the official promised to encourage German companies to invest in Nigeria’s power sector.
The head of Nigeria also had separate productive meetings with the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, the Prime Minister of Finland, Mr. Jurki Katainen; the Prime Minister of Malta, Dr. Joseph Muscat and the British Foreign Secretary, Mr. William Hague.
