Kadré Ouédraogo, the President of ECOWAS Commission, on Thursday said that Monday’s bomb blast at Nyanya Motor Park in Abuja, reinforced the urgent need for vigilance by all.
He made the assertion in a statement issued by Sunny Ugoh, the commission's Acting Director of Communication, in a condolence message to President Goodluck Jonathan, and the bereaved families of the bomb blast victims.
The statement highlighted the strengthening of collaborative efforts at the local, national and regional levels against terrorist groups trying to destabilise the region.
"The commission wishes to assure the government and good people of Nigeria that the entire community stands with them in solidarity in this difficult moment" it stated.

The statement called on security agencies in all the member states to strengthening national and regional counter-terrorism measures.
It said such measures would be geared towards bringing the perpetrators of heinous crimes in our region to justice.
According to the statement, any terrorist attack against any of the member states was an attack against the entire community.
Ouedraogo reassured citizens in the region that the commission will do everything necessary to stop acts of terrorism within member states and partners.
