A 43-year-old housewife, Nuratu Saka, has been docked in Apapa, Lagos for allegedly beating her landlady to pulp.
The accused, who lives at 3, Michael Ebahor, Alaba Oro, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos, was brought before an Apapa Senior Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday standing trial on one count charge of assault.
According to police prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Inedu, the accused committed the offence on March 17 at 9 p.m. at the above address.
Saka was alleged to have assaulted her landlady, Mrs Saidat Adebowale, 50, by slapping and beating her to a pulp.
The landlady, however, reported the matter to the police who later arrested the accused.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
While Saka denied the charge, the Senior Magistrate, Mr. Adeyemi Amos, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety that must show an evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
Further hearing in the case was adjourned to April 30.
