Four new ministers from different states were announced by the Senate on Wednesday, July 2.
Former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau
The Senate confirmed the appointment of Former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau; Prince Adedayo Clement Adeyeye from Ekiti, Dr. Stephen Oruh from Delta, and Dr. Abdul Bulama from Yobe State as ministers.
Ibrahim Shekarau, who recently left the All Progressives Congress, APC, to join the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, will represent Kano state in the Federal Executive Council.

The nominees who answered questions from the senators on the state of the nation, agreed that an urgent review of the country’s education curriculum remained the best way to tackle unemployment, poverty and insurgency.
Senate President, David Mark, congratulated the new appointees and urged them to see themselves as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who are not in office to satisfy their party and sectional interests.
