The Nigerian Military will soon relocate its Command Centre to Maiduguri, the Defence Headquarter (DHQ) has revealed.
This is in response to president Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that the Command and Control Centre of the DHQ should be relocated to Maiduguri, the epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency in the Nigerian northeastern state of Borno.
Making the confirmation, Director of Defence Information (DDI), Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade disclosed that the military is working round the clock to implement the relocation within the shortest possible time.
THISDAY reports revealed that military authorities are already expediting action to ensure that the relocation is effected as quickly as possible.
Although Olukolade could not specifically state or succinctly reveal further details on when the order would be implemented, he confirmed that the modalities were being worked out and would take effect soon saying.“the necessary details and implementation strategies are already being worked out”.
