9ja News: David Oyedepo’s Winners Chapel Introduces E-Payment For Tithes And Offering Tiblaze D Comedian Monday 3 February 2014 No Comment

The founder of Winners Chapel and Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo has introduced a new method of collecting tithes and offering in his church as against the regular way of collecting it.
Bishop David Oyedepo introduced e-transact for the collection of tithes and offering in the church.
Reports say there is now a big notice board set up at the entrance of the university situated at Ota along the Idiroko road, Ogun State, which says: ‘Pay your tithe and offering on the go: For tithe, dial *389*77* Amount # and For offering, dial *389*78* Amount #’.
However most church members have denied knowledge of the introduction of the e-payment method, maybe because it was made ‘strictly’ for the church’s university students.
According to a church member, Olanrewaju Oladeirin: ‘Such a thing does not exist in Winners and if it does exist I have never heard about it.’
Another member of the church, Damola Adebisi-Azeez, also vehemently denied the existence of such method of payment of tithes and offerings, saying, ‘Where did you get that from? I am telling you that such does not exist in our church and if indeed it was introduced, members (church members) would be informed.’
While other church members said that the e-payment system existed in the church but for the students of Covenant University. Adesoji Abiodun, who claimed to have been a member of the church since his school days, said that electronic payment system was introduced to the students of Covenant University: ‘Yes it is available at the university and the signboard is there, but it is not at the main church,’ he said.
This e-payment method for tithes and offering was said to be introduced a few months back, especially for the Covenant University students who worship there.
