Video and pictures have surfaced of how Nigerian asylum seekers apply for asylum under horrible conditions in Pretoria, South Africa.
Sahara TV showed the features of how much these Nigerian citizens, who number about a thousand people a day, stand in queue on a daily basis to seek asylum.

One South African immigration officer say that these immigrants come to their office daily and always in large numbers around a thousand.

In 2012, Nigeria’s Consul-General in South Africa, Honourable Okey Emuchay, declared that he does not agree with people from Nigeria seeking asylum in South Africa, by saying: “There are no political persecutions in Nigeria, it is a misnomer for a Nigerian to arrive in South Africa and begin to apply for political asylum.”

“With more than 80 political parties, Nigerian democracy and polity has achieved a lot of growth and stability since 1999. … If you are not comfortable in one party, you can well move to the other.
